Proud Moments ABA is seeking a dedicated and analytical leader to oversee patient benefits and insurance operations as our Benefits Manager for Patient Access. The Benefits Manager for Patient Access oversees all aspects of patient insurance eligibility, benefits verification, and authorization processes to ensure timely access to ABA therapy services. This role ensures that patients receive the care they need while maximizing reimbursement and maintaining compliance with payer requirements.

 

Proud Moments ABA is a behavioral health organization, providing the gold standard of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children on the autism spectrum from birth to age 21. Responsibilities

Here’s how you’ll make an impact as our Benefits Manager for Patient Access:

  • Oversee daily operations of insurance eligibility and benefits verification for new and existing patients
  • Ensure accurate interpretation of ABA-specific coverage details, including CPT codes, prior authorization requirements, and session limits
  • Identify coverage gaps and communicate with RCM department patient clearly and promptly
  • Obtain authorizations for ABA assessments and treatment when there are gaps in coverage
  • Manage and mentor patient access and benefits verification staff
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payer representatives regarding benefits policies
  • Maintain current knowledge of payer backdating, reto auth and exception approvals
  • Audit payor details and identify mistakes that affect billing accuracy
  • Partner with billing and finance teams to support accurate and timely reimbursement

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you’ll need the following qualifications and strengths:

  • 3–5 years of experience in insurance verification, patient access, or revenue cycle management—preferably in ABA, behavioral health, or medical outpatient settings
  • Strong understanding of ABA billing codes, payer authorization processes, and medical terminology
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Proficiency with Central Reach
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 Annually
